Vanessa Price, DipWSET, Instructor
Born and raised in Kentucky, Vanessa first caught the wine bug working in a small winery down south. She followed her passion for wine and moved to New York City in 2007, starting as a sommelier at Balon Wine Bar on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. From there she moved into the world of wine education with the American Sommelier Association, where she handled PR, event management and wine-focused client service. Her experience has also included Colangelo & Partners public relations, consulting for private wine collectors and for NYC restaurants, and restaurant-focused distributor work with Empire Merchants. She earned the WSET Diploma in Wines & Spirits at International Wine Center in 2014.
Vanessa’s years-long diverse experience in the wine world has defined her as being both a student and teacher of wine.
Besides being an instructor of WSET courses at International Wine Center, Vanessa has a weekly wine column in New York Magazine, is a guest lecturer at Columbia University, and works as the NY/Hamptons Area Manager for the importer, Maisons Marques & Domaines.
She recently founded The Vinum Collective, an agency for creating fresh visual content in the world of wine. Her first show, The Vinum Project Issue 1, was shown over the 2018 summer at a Hamptons gallery to critical and commercial success.
