A graduate of Williams College with a psychology major, Timothy grew up in the Northeast and had little exposure to wine until his travels during and after college. He tasted his first great bottle of wine (a St-Emilion) while studying in France and visited his first wineries while living in Australia. He became hooked.
After several years in pharmaceutical sales, Timothy decided to make his passion his vocation and enrolled in his first wine course. Two years later, with his WSET Diploma nearly completed, he jumped into the wine world with both feet. Timothy now has 20 years of experience as Sales Representative with Skurnik Wines & Spirits.
Timothy earned his WSET Diploma in Wine & Spirits at International Wine Center in 1999. Since 2000, he has been a WSET instructor at IWC. Timothy also holds the Sommelier Society of America (SSA) Certificate and is a Certified Wine Educator of the Society of Wine Educators. He continues to visit the wine regions of the world at every opportunity, always looking to learn more.
