    Job Description

    International Wine Center is the provider of WSET courses in NYC. We offer over 50 courses a year, from Intermediate to Diploma level, that are offered in a variety of morning, evening and weekend options. Intermediate through Diploma classes require one or more Teaching Assistants to set up the classrooms, pour wines during class, and stay afterwards to clean up. Teaching Assistants must be available for every class session – no exceptions – and report at least one hour prior to class start time.

    Kitchen Assistants are required to work two hours every week during their course, washing and polishing glasses and other light tasks. The schedule is somewhat flexible and need not be on the same day of class.

    Experience/Education

    • 1+ years of serving experience in a restaurant or wine bar
    • Bachelor’s degree or certification in a Hospitality related field or equivalent experience
    • TIPS certification preferred
    • NYC Food Handlers Certificate preferred
    • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
    • Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and POS systems
    • Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business

    Riverview Wine & Spirits is a small boutique wine shop in Jersey City Heights specializing in esoteric and farmer made wines, as well as craft beer, artisan spirits, and accoutrements. 

    We are looking for someone passionate in wine (and hopefully the rest as well) with a WSET II level diploma or comparable and/or a background in hospitality.

    Job Description: 

    • Helping customers and providing recommendations 

    • Processing phone and online orders 

    • Cash register duties 

    • Restock and maintain appearance of the store 

    • Inputting Inventory into POS system

    • Creating and receiving Purchase Orders 

    • Packing and occasional delivery of Neighborhood delivery orders
