    This position is in office Monday through Thursday, most Fridays are remotely

    Areas of involvement include, but are not limited to:

    Student Services

    • Advising students about available courses and procedures for enrolling
    • Registering students into classes and exams
    • Serving as students’ main contact point for all in-person and online courses
    • Maintaining student records
    • Processing student invoices, exam results, certificates, etc.
    • Marketing new classes to prospective students

    School services

    • Reception duties and managing general inquiries
    • Assisting with class set-up by organizing materials for students and instructors
    • Monitor course enrollments, registrations, and deadlines
    • Review TA applications, assign TAs for courses and monitor TAs

    We are seeking individuals with some experience in the wine industry with excellent customer service and communication skills, who is well-spoken, a team-player, pleasant and patient, flexible, able to multi-task and very organized. Candidates will be passionate about wine and interested in pursuing additional learning; be fluent with MS Office, including Excel; and have some database management experience. Knowledge of Filemaker is a plus.

    This position is entry level and offers the opportunity to take WSET courses and to earn career certifications.     International Wine Center is the provider of WSET courses in NYC. We offer over 50 courses a year, from Intermediate to Diploma level, that are offered in a variety of morning, evening and weekend options. Intermediate through Diploma classes require one or more Teaching Assistants to set up the classrooms, pour wines during class, and stay afterwards to clean up.

    Teaching Assistants must be available for every class session – no exceptions – and report at least one hour prior to class start time.
