Mary John Baumann, DipWSET, Instructor
Mary John began her career in the fragrance industry with Estee Lauder’s affiliate in Stockholm. She then returned to New York to embark on a career in global marketing of luxury fragrances with Avon, Estee Lauder and Coty.
Professional experience in fragrance marketing merged with a personal interest in wine study and global wine travel. In 2009 Mary John was awarded the WSET Diploma certificate and has been a devoted candidate for the Master of Wine title.
Mary John is the founder of “Nose in the Glass” which seeks to educate consumers on the role of sensory skills in wine appreciation. Her goal is to help demystify wine and encourage consumers to trust their own instincts while exploring all of the sensory pleasures that wine has to offer. She has also served as Brand Ambassador for Champagne Ruinart. She honed her wine selling skills as a wine consultant for Sotheby’s Wine and a French Wine Specialist for Vintry Fine Wines.
