May Matta-Aliah, DipWSET, Instructor
May Matta-Aliah is a New York based wine educator and president of In the Grape. She is a seasoned presenter, an accredited educator, and brings over 18 years of experience and knowledge to her work. In her teachings May leverages her wide breadth of knowledge and her hands-on industry experience along with insights gained from her extensive travel to the worlds’ wine regions.
May is a firm believer in making wine and spirits education accessible to everyone from wine trade professionals to curious appreciators. In addition to May’s long-standing affiliation with International Wine Center as a WSET® Certified Educator, she represents the regions of Alto Adige, Franciacorta and Armagnac as their Ambassador and lead educator. Additionally, she represents Lebanon’s oldest commercial winery, Domaine des Tourelles, as their Brand Ambassador.
May holds the Diploma from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, which she earned at International Wine Center in 2000, and is a Certified Wine Educator by the Society of Wine Educators in addition to holding numerous regional certifications.
